 Abstract:
»In Chapter 16, for example, Gaca looks at the use of rape in war, in a piece which self-conciously intersects with other studies of women, sex, and gender in antiquity. Building on her earlier work in this field, her study foregrounds, and explores the consequences of the extreme sexual and physical violence perpetrated against women by ancient armies.«
